GPPAC Annual Report 2020

Our Annual Report 2020 pays tribute to all of our courageous peacebuilders, who in times of crisis came closer together at the local, national, regional, and global level and often acted as first responders in their local communities. 

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to threaten broader peace and human security by exacerbating persistent political, social, and economic structural inequalities. However, it did not halt local peacebuilding work who decided to let hope prevail over despair, and unity and solidarity win over division. Like the rest of the work, we met in much greater numbers and much more frequently in the virtual space. As a result, our local knowledge and expertise contributed significantly to the UN Peacebuilding Architecture Review. In an effort to adapt to this new reality, we also scaled up our Small Grants Programme to most efficiently support local initiatives.
