Strategic Plan 2026-2030
A world experiencing the highest number of armed conflicts since the end of the Second World War needs a network of people who know how to ensure the safety and security of people, communities, and societies.
The Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) is the world’s largest global network of local peacebuilders.
GPPAC brings together over 300 local, regional and international civil society organisations and activists in 104 countries working on conflict prevention and peacebuilding. Present and active before, during, and after conflict, it is these local members who lead the GPPAC network. It seeks a peaceful world where violence and armed conflicts are prevented or resolved by nonviolent means, based on justice, gender equity, sustainable development and human security for all.
GPPAC’s aim for 2030: Conflict prevention and peacebuilding practices and policies, from the local to the global, are more effective in enabling the security of people, communities and societies because they are locally grounded, adaptive and inclusive.
GPPAC members work towards this aim through three interconnected goals:
- A more active, cohesive, inclusive, and resilient peacebuilding network
- Strong local peacebuilding action and capacities
- An influential collective voice for peace
They have collectively identified four areas where they see an opportunity for stronger collaboration, joint learning, and collective action over the coming years.
- Climate, Peace and Security
- Civil Society-Led Dialogue
- Peace Education
- Youth, Peace and Security
These priorities do not define the full scope of expertise across the network. GPPAC members will continue to collaborate and learn from each other on other thematic areas, including resilience to hybrid threats, Women, Peace and Security, and improving peacebuilding practice, as priorities and opportunities evolve.
The GPPAC 2026–2030 Strategic Plan is the result of an extensive and inclusive consultation process across the GPPAC network, coordinated by a member-led drafting committee.
