GPPAC's Chair of Board Briefs Peacebuilding Commission on Impact of COVID-19 on Peacebuilding in the Pacific
On 28 July, GPPAC's Chair of the Board Sharon Bhagwan Rolls briefed the Peacebuilding Commission at the Ambassadorial-level meeting on the impact of COVID-19 on peacebuilding and sustaining peace in the Pacific Islands. As the representative of Pacific women responders, peacebuilders and faith community members, she highlighted several innovative approaches the region uses to respond to the most critical human security priorities facing the Pacific. In her speech, Sharon Bhagwan Rolls stressed that the COVID-19 situation requires for the "integration of gender analysis across peace-development-humanitarian work and the language of human security in COVID-19 response and recovery communication across our Blue Pacific Continent".
