Saloni Singh
Saloni Singh is the Executive Chair of DidiBahini Nepal, a non-profit, non-governmental organization established with the goal to support the empowerment of women and facilitating gender mainstreaming into the development process. She is the Gender Focal Point for GPPAC South Asia, Steering Committee member of the Regional Center for Strategic Studies, and the Executive Council Member of Asian South Pacific Association of Basic and Adult Education. Ms. Singh is among the initiators of Shantimalika, a network for Women Peace and Security (WPS) in Nepal where she served as the National Coordinator from 2010 -2011.
Ms. Singh has been extensively involved in development programmes for more than two decades in Nepal and South Asia, and has worked in cooperation with a wide range of national and international networks in areas such as women's empowerment, conflict transformation and peacebuilding. Further, she has worked as a Gender Expert for many international and multinational organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UNIFEM in Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Ms Singh has a Master's Degree in Economics and at present she is pursuing her PhD. She also holds degree from St. Francis Xavier University, Canada and serves as a visiting scholar to the Coady International Institute, Canada. Ms Singh has been honoured with several fellowships in different universities in the US and UK.
