Maja Vitas Majstorović
Maja is the Coordinator of the Gender Programme at the GPPAC Global Secretariat since January 2016. Here, she coordinates the Gender Focal Points network, collaborates with fellow civil society organisations focused on gender inclusion and advocates for gender-responsiveness at international governance bodies, such as the UN.
Previously she worked at Nansen Dialogue Centre (NDC) Serbia as Communications and PR coordinator and had been acting as a Regional Gender Focal Point for the Western Balkans where she focused on gender mainstreaming in peace education. She has obtained over 15 years of experience in the field of civil society, most of which was acquired in the field of conflict prevention and mediation. At NDC Serbia she obtained skills in nonviolent conflict resolution and mediation and had participated in the establishment of the GPPAC network in the Western Balkans from its beginning in early 2004.
Maja holds a degree in social anthropology and ethnology from the University of Belgrade and is an Alumni of Peace Research Programme at Oslo University International Summer School. She speaks fluent English and Serbian and has a working knowledge of Spanish and Russian.
