GPPAC at CSAP Panel on Women, Peace and Security
On 1-3 October, the GPPAC Global Secretariat participated in the Civil Society Advisory Panel (CSAP) on Women Peace and Security to NATO. GPPAC contributed a discussion paper on the involvement of CSAP in gender training issues. The meeting elaborated a set of recommendations for the review of NATO's Action Plan on 1325, including on: Adequate resourcing and budget lines for the implementation of the Action Plan; Community engagement and human security accountability to communities affected by NATO operations; Guidelines for engaging and collaborating with civil society on training in relevant thematic areas; enhancing the action plan through a more impact-oriented approach with theories of change and outcome indicators. The group also met with the NATO Deputy Secretary-General Rose Gottemoeller, and presented the preliminary recommendations to representatives of NATO Allied and Partners nations.
