Victoria Seeck

As GPPAC’s Climate, Peace and Security Coordinator, Victoria works at the intersection of peace, security and the natural environment. Pursuing two Master’s degrees, in Conflict Studies and Environment, Victoria has professional experience at the local, national and global levels in project management, policy development and stakeholder engagement. With an international background, Victoria has developed a strong interest in interdisciplinary and transboundary challenges and has worked on diverse programs, including nature-based solutions for ocean conservation, environmental crime, illegal networks and circular economy. 

Beyond being seen as a resource to be extracted, the natural environment is also an arena for conflict or peace. It acts as the base for shared experiences and collaboration that, if championed, can help build lasting peace. As our climate changes, this link is becoming increasingly clear and important for conflict prevention.

Why I work at GPPAC…

Victoria is excited to contribute to the organisation's vision: a shift in dealing with violent conflict from reaction to prevention. She believes that climate sensitivity plays a pivotal role in promoting and sustaining peace, and is looking forward to learning from GPPAC’s members how this looks in practice.
