Frank van den Akker
Frank van den Akker (the Netherlands) holds the GPPAC board position with a main focus on HR and Organisation as well as being the Board’s prime liaison for the GPPAC Global Secretariat.
He brings a wealth of international experience in senior positions as well as a valuable international network, having served Shell for over 30 years and subsequently has been serving various organisations at the board-level.
He worked across Europe throughout his career and was based in different parts of Asia for many years. Nowadays, he runs social-entrepreneurial activities in parallel to an advisory practice, focusing on corporate governance and management as well as international relations. Frank currently holds a number of executive and non-executive board positions, predominantly in not-for-profit organizations and NGOs. Though an outsider in peacebuilding, he has been holding board positions for institutions advocating for history education in support of driving peace & reconciliation efforts, and are involved in citizenship education.
